So the big wedding day has been, and now Harry and Meghan are all set for the day after the wedding!
Here’s 10 things they could do the day after the wedding:
- Relax
- Make it Facebook official
- Eat left over cake
- Open presents
- Pack for your honeymoon
- Clean up the reception venue (somehow I don't think they will be doing this)
- Spend time with out of town friends and family
- Host an informal brunch
- Plan some post wedding gatherings
- Get some Mr & Mrs mugs!
I would look forward to hosting the brunch!
Here is a really simple brunch dish that Harry could easily whip up for the guests:
Eggy ginger loaf with roasted apples and maple crème fraiche
Prep time: 5 mins
Cooking time: 10 mins
1 ginger loaf (approx. 500g)
¼ cup milk
6 free range eggs
100ml cream
½ tsp vanilla paste
pinch salt
vegetable oil for frying
Slice ginger loaf into 2cm thick pieces. In a large bowl, combine all other ingredients except oil and whisk until well mixed. Submerge the loaf slices in the egg mix for at least 30 seconds each. Heat a little oil in a frying pan on medium heat, then fry the slices on both sides until golden brown.
Roasted Apples
Prep time: 3 mins
Cooking time: 5 mins
4 granny smith apples
2 tbsp  Muscovado sugar
Preheat oven grill. De-core and quarter the apples. Sprinkle with muscovado sugar. Place into an oiled cast iron frying pan, skin side down. Roast under the grill for 5 minutes or until soft and syrupy.
Maple crème fraiche
Prep time: 1 min
100ml crème fraiche
2 tbsp maple syrup
Combine the crème fraiche and maple syrup in a small bowl and mix well.
Put all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blitz until smooth.
TO SERVE:
Divide the ginger loaf between 4 plates then spoon over the apples (along with cooking syrup) and the maple crème fraiche.
