Act Party leader David Seymour has announced his party's housing policy by launching a book.
Mr Seymour returned to the west Auckland road where his high school crush lived, to launch his 194-page manifesto titled Own Your Future.
In the book he said planning rules need to be scrapped and also wants councils to receive a share of GST on construction projects.
Mr Seymour told the Herald on Sunday it's been an honour to serve in Parliament and he'd like to be re-elected for another term.
"How many people get to have the front row seat, and then of the people in Parliament, how many people actually get to shake things up and change things?"
Mr Seymour said he wants people to know that beyond the politics he's an ordinary person.
"One of the things that I have managed to do throughout this whole three years is that I always catch up with one of my good friends - my old school friends."
Former Act leaders Sir Roger Douglas and Richard Prebble also published their manifestos as books
