State Highway 2 reopens after serious crash

UPDATED 8.43pm: State Highway two southwest of Hastings has reopened after a serious crash closed it about 5.30pm.

One person's in critical condition and several others are injured, after a car and a motorcycle collided near Paki Paki.

A police spokesperson says one of the two people riding the motorcycle sustained a serious head injury and is now in Hawkes Bay Regional Hospital in Hastings.

The other person on the motorbike is also in hospital, with non-life threatening injuries, as is the one person who was in the car.

Detours have now been lifted.
