A 41-foot launch is on fire in the Marlborough Sounds.
It's on the south side of Maud Island, and the Fire Service said everyone has been able to get off safely.
Spokesman Andrew Norris said the vessel is engulfed in flames, and looks like being a total loss.
He said the vessel is anchored and is expected to sink.
