Kaino comfortable playing at eight

By: Matt Brown | Latest Rugby News | Thursday February 23 2012 6:40

All Blacks flanker Jerome Kaino is comfortable with his switch to number eight for the Blues.

Kaino will square off against All Blacks number eight Keiran Read when the Blues host the Crusaders in tomorrow night's Super Rugby opener at Eden Park.

Coach Pat Lam wants Kaino to take more of a leadership role from the back of the scrum.

Kaino admits he would prefer to be on the blindside but has been working closely with Lam who was a world class number eight.

Meanwhile the Highlanders and Chiefs name their sides today ahead of Saturday's showdown in Hamilton.
