Rousing applause has greeted National's support for the third reading of the Zero Carbon Bill.
It would see greenhouse gas emissions reduced to zero by 2050.
Leader Simon Bridges says the party is taking a bi-partisan approach to climate change, but will continue to fight for changes.
He says the Bill is a product of compromise.
"Compromise shouldn't be a dirty word in politics. National will support this Bill."
