The National Party leader has criticised the Prime Minister for cutting back her fortnightly interview with The Country to a monthly chat. 

Jacinda Ardern has moved her interview with The Country to a monthly booking. She told host Jamie Mackay yesterday that it is a scheduling matter. 

"We have lots of requests and its about trying to make sure I'm in as many places as possible," adding that she's picking up other slots instead such as talkback from time-to-time.

However, Simon Bridges has hit back, saying that her predecessors such as Helen Clark and John Key always fronted.

"We're all busy. I think it's really important to be accountable and answer the good questions, the bad questions, the easy ones and the hard ones." 

Mackay fired the easy and hard questions at Bridges, drilling him on whether Labour's infrastructure announcement damages National, and if Bridges has the personality to be elected.
