Calls for an immediate move to level 1 are growing.
Jane Smith is a North Otago farmer and former winner of the BFEAs, an annual awards programme which recognise and celebrate farm practices that promote sustainable land management.
She told The Country's Jamie Mackay there is a growing frustration from many people across the country over the government's response to delaying the move to level 1, with no new Covid cases in New Zealand for an eleventh straight day.
"I feel we're moving from social distancing to a socialist state in a hell of a hurry."
Smith says when the rest of the economy and communities are trying to do the right thing, its very frustrating.
