The Prime Minister is signalling an eventual end to New Zealand's tight Covid border restriction.
She told The Country New Zealand's not lagging behind other countries, such as Australia and the UK, when it comes to the border.
Both have changed their rules, with the UK to abandon all restrictions by July 19th, while Australia has laid out a road map to reopen borders to vaccinated travellers.
Ardern says she stands by New Zealand's strategy over the UK's plan to allow Covid to run rampant, while Australia is actually halving the number of people they are letting into the country, and New Zealand is letting in three to four times as many people.
However, she made a prediction for our borders next year.
"Our borders will not be the same next years as they are now.
"But we will do that based on evidence, what we observe from others, and with a good, strong vaccine cin place for our New Zealanders."
