The Prime Minister is standing her ground and defending Immigration Minister Iain Lees-Galloway over the secrecy regarding criminal Karel Sroubek being allowed to stay in the country
Seven years ago, Sroubek was found guilty of having a false passport in the name of Jan Antolik and lying to immigration officials when he first came to New Zealand in 2003.
On The Country hosted by Jamie MacKay, Jacinda Ardern backed her Minister, saying it was a very delicate issue.
“It’s not a decision he took lightly. Someone has to make the decision, and the Minister made the call.”
