The National Party raised a few eyebrows after Chris Bishop's inaccurate claim about cigarette stores in Northland.
The Leader of the House said under the current legislation, only one store would be able to sell cigarettes in the region, making it the target of ram raids.
Luxon later said these sentiments weren't expressed the way they should have been.
ACT's David Seymour says there will still be a limited number of places able to sell cigarettes in Northland- making them targets for crime.Â
