Our Agriculture Minister predicts Kiwis who work the land are in for challenges ahead.
An independent inquiry into land use has been launched in the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle after forestry slash and silt from farmlands caused destruction.
Damien O'Connor told The Country it'll give guidance on how to plant the right trees, in the right places.
He says the inquiry will slow down rampant planting and make sure people think carefully about where they re-plant what they've lost.
