Pharmac's boss accepts the drug buying agency needs to do better. 

It follows an interim independent report that finds the agency is under performing in removing inequitable health outcomes. 

It also describes the agency's decision making as "opaque" and "slow". 

Chief Executive Sarah Fitt told Mike Hosking they're working to be more transparent. 

“It’s a work in progress. We’re continually trying to make our work more understandable.” 

The independent panel will now make recommendations, with the final report expected at the end of February.
