Dr Michio Kaku is one of the world's most recognised scientists.

He is known as the co-founder of 'String Theory' which is the extension of the work from Einstein, and claims it could explain pretty much everything.

Throughout his career, Kaku has become a famed futurist and is an award winning documentary presenter.

He is now heading to New Zealand to explain the future of humanity, and told Mike Hosking that space research is vital to our existence.

"The dinosaurs did not have a space program, which is why they are not here today."
