Positive news for people looking for work.

The latest numbers from Seek shows job ads in the last fortnight are at 57 percent of pre-Covid levels.

Healthcare, community services and the trades are coming back strongest, while accounting, and admin and office jobs are showing the slowest signs of recovery.

Infometrics senior economist, Brad Olsen, told Mike Hosking the numbers are getting us back on track.

"That normal hasn't been reestablished, but we have to realise that 57 percent is better than where we thought we'd be as a country a few months back."

Olsen says there's some cautious optimism about where the economy's going and  the figures show some businesses are still hiring.
