Horses will be absent from Crusaders' match-day Super Rugby experiences at Christchurch's new stadium due to safety reasons.

Officials say limited space around the field means the six steeds would have struggled to avoid the playing surface, therefore compromising the condition of the turf and creating potential injury risks.
