People are being told to continue to follow the advice of Civil Defence in the wake of ex-Cyclone Gita.
The storm has wreaked havoc on Taranaki and Tasman, as well as the West Coast of the South Island.

Fire and Emergency has received 400 calls overnight, mainly about flooding, roofs, verandahs and gates lifting, as well as slips and trees down.
Communications advisor Joss Debreceny told Kate Hawkesby personal safety is the absolute priority.
"There will be a lot of loose debris around so if the winds are picking up again you need to watch out for that. Please don't drive through flooded roads."
He says people should call 111 for emergencies, or their local Civil Defence.
