Tongans are mourning the death of their Queen Mother.
Halaevalu Mata'aho, who was the mother of two Tongan kings, has died in Auckland at the age of 90.
Times of Tonga publisher and manager Malemanu Bloomfield said it's a huge loss for the people of the Kingdom of Tonga.
She said social media in Tonga has been flooded with messages and condolences from abroad and within the country.
Bloomfield said she's seen a lot of people on the streets wearing black and radio stations are playing religious music as a sign of respect.
Tongan Advisory Council chair Melino Maka expects there to be an announcement about the Queen Mother's funeral late this afternoon.
He understands the current King and Queen are in the northern part of Tonga on a visit, but said the details have yet to be announced.
