Questions are being asked about the role of Michelle Boag in the Saudi sheep scandal.
Ms Boag is a former National Party President and Middle East Business Council advisor.
She's referenced in a letter released by the Labour Party it outlines discussions in 2011 between Foreign Minister Murray McCully and Saudi businessman Hamood Al Khalaf on the resumption of live sheep trade between New Zealand and Saudi Arabia.
Labour MP David Parker said she's previously said there's nothing to look at in terms of the deal, now he wants to know the extent of her involvement.
"What is the former President of the National Party doing here?"
"Is she and intermediary between Mr McCully and Mr Al Khalaf?"
MP David Parker believes its more evidence the Government financed a deal with Mr Khalaf to secure a free trade deal in the region, "because it talks about the need to come to some arrangement in order to advance the Saudi trade issues."
"It's the same thing that was said in the Cabinet paper in 2013, where it's clear the motivation for the payments was to unlock the free trade agreement."
