Sir John Key has joined those who want a firm date on when we can travel overseas unimpeded.

The Government is planning on getting as many New Zealanders vaccinated as possible to allow a staged reopening in early 2022.

But it's not committing to how many Kiwis need to get jabbed before that happens.

The former Prime Minister told the Mike Hosking Breakfast there needs to be a firmer date on when New Zealand re-opens.

“Speeding up the rollout of vaccines is important, but you still get an enormous number of people who will not take the vaccine, unless they really, really know the borders are opening.”
