Prime Minister Christopher Luxon’s Auckland office has been cordoned off by police after a fire.
A spokesperson from the Prime Minister’s office staff were safe and were not harmed.
“It is now a police matter so we do not have further comment at this stage.”
Fire and Emergency told the Herald it was called to a deck fire at 9.53am.
The spokesperson said they sent one fire engine.
“On arrival, the fire was already out.”
A staff member at a neighbouring bakehouse told the Herald five police cars were parked outside Luxon’s office, which is on Millhouse Dr in Botany.
The staff member said a fire truck was also in attendance but had since left.
They did not know why the office had been cordoned off.
