Police are appealing to the public for information as they investigate a deadly crash in Kinleith, south of Tokoroa.
Two people were killed in the two-vehicle collision on Wednesday, April 29, with emergency services responding to State Highway 1 about 9.10pm.
Another person was seriously injured.
Police are now asking people to come forward with information as they investigate the circumstances of the crash, particularly anyone who may have dashcam footage from around the time of the crash.
Those travelling on the Tar Hill highway between 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm are being urged to check their dashcam footage and contact police.
They are also asking the drivers of two truck and trailer units to make themselves known, both of whom were driving northbound in the passing lane at the time of the accident.
Police believe one of the trucks was nearly hit by a car involved in the collision when it overtook a truck and returned to the southbound lane.
