A fire appliance was stolen from the Piha Fire Station this morning, triggering a police response across Auckland.
A police spokesperson said one person has since been arrested.
Police were called shortly before 11.30am today by Fire and Emergency NZ staff who reported one of their vehicles had been stolen from Piha.
The vehicle was able to be tracked heading east, before Police pulled it over on Hillsborough Road, just off Mount Albert Road, just after 11.30am.
The driver was arrested, and charges are pending, police say.
