Backers of an Auckland based 'Cat Lounge' cafe, are pleading for feline lovers to help them fund their project.
They're looking for $35,000 to get their cat cafe open by August.
The idea is the brain child of Auckland friends Mike and Vicky, who were inspired by similar ideas in Japan and Australia.
They're looking to have 10 to 15 cats in their 200 square metre cafe, for coffee drinkers to come and cuddle up with while they relax.
But they say, they need to extra funding to make sure it can open.
The pair say they need $35,000 over the next 60 days to get the project off the ground.
They're also looking for vets and cat food suppliers to sponsor them.
