The engineer of the ill-fated CTV building can still work in the industry, despite having his registration as a chartered professional engineer suspended.
A Disciplinary Committee investigating David Harding has found he failed to tell officials about his involvement in designing the building when he re-applied for membership, and he's been disciplined accordingly.
But acting IPENZ chief executive Kieran Devine says that doesn't mean he can't work on projects.
"The majority of engineers don't need chartered status to undertake the work that certainly I've done over my career."
Mr Devine says the widespread publication of his name will hopefully make people aware.
