A victory for a Christchurch-based charity which was looking at closing its doors.

After a $50,000 donation, SmileDial will be able to continue operating for the next year.

The charity looks to help families with special needs children.

Founder, Kelly Dugan says they're now in a position to do some forward planning.

"What we're doing is we're concentrating on this year, of course, but we're also looking at 2016 and beyond."
