One person has been taken to hospital in critical condition following a stabbing incident in the Hastings suburb of Camberley.
Another person was also transported to hospital in a moderate condition while armed police cordoned off a block of shops at the site on Kiwi Street.
Police confirmed a person had been taken into custody following the incident that played out about 3pm on Thursday after reports of a person being injured in an altercation.
A police spokeswoman confirmed two people had been taken to hospital, one in a moderate condition, the other in a critical condition.
A Hato Hone St John spokesman said they responded with two ambulances, and an operations manager responded to the scene.
“Our ambulance staff treated two patients at the scene and transported them to Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.”
