Police have named the 31-year-old man whose body was found in the Waikato River yesterday.

He was Anthony Chanpraseuth.

Detective Inspector Hywel Jones said a post-mortem carried out today on the body of the Hamilton man indicated that he drowned.

Police are trying to reconstruct Mr Chanpraseuth’s movements leading up to his death.

They want to speak with anyone who may have seen him in Hamilton city centre late on Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
