After months of speculation, Bruce Jenner's mother has confirmed her son is undergoing the transition to become a woman.

The Olympic gold medallist in decathlon and father of six is documenting his journey for a television special.

While the 65-year-old hasn't commented on the gender change.. his mother Esther Jenner says her son is hoping to encourage others to be their true selves.

Reports have also surfaced that the former athlete will discuss his life-changing decision with Diane Sawyer in and interview to air in May.
