Police have named the two victims of yesterday's fatal crash in Burnham.

They were 71-year-old Aalix Sandra Roake, and 63-year-old Richard John Roake.

The crash occured after a car and truck collided on State Highway 1, south of Rolleston near Dunns Crossing Rd, around 10:30 am.

The truck driver has been taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

The deaths bring the fatalities total this year so far to 355, three more than over the same period last year.

Police have offered their sympathies to the victim's families.
