A rescue operation is underway on Mt Taranaki after a woman was injured in a rockfall.
Police were called around 2:30pm on Saturday after a 39-year-old woman injured her arm while descending the mountain.
The woman is waiting to be rescued with her climbing companion near Symes Hut where she was injured.
Alpine Cliff Rescue staff are currently on their way to the scene.
