UPDATED 7.58am: One person has been freed from a car after the vehicle they were in hit a tree in Auckland.

It happened just before half past six in Overlea Road in Glen Innes.

Two fire crews cut the person out of the car.

Two other people who were in the car managed to get out themselves.

One person in a serious condition and two others in moderate conditions have been taken to Auckland City Hospital.
