There are calls for safety improvements at a train crossing in Auckland, after two serious incidents in three years.
A man died last night after being hit by a train near Morningside station.
It's the same crossing on Morningside Drive where a 22-year-old woman suffered horrific injuries two years ago, when her wheelchair became stuck in the crossing.
Kiwirail put in safety measures after that incident, including barrier arms and lights.
But locals say it's still dangerous, and more improvements are needed.
