Two missions for the Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter this afternoon.

First it was sent to a two car crash on State Highway 1 near Ohingaiti at around 1.

The Mangaweka Fire Brigade was needed to extricate one of the patients, who were all stabilised by St John staff.

The helicopter airlifted a woman in her 40’s with chest injuries to Palmerston North hospital.

Shortly after returning to base, the helicopter was sent to Waiouru.

A man in his 60’s suffering a medical emergency needed airlifting to Whanganui hospital.
