Updated 8:09pm: Police are investigating whether a New Zealand woman - who allegedly fell victim to a gang rape in Sydney - had her drink spiked before the attack.
The 28-year-old met up with a man she got into contact with on a dating mobile app last weekend.. she then began to feel dizzy and numb and later found herself at an unknown property where she was sexually assaulted by a group of men.
Detective Inspector Michael Haddow says it's the first time the woman met the man in person:
"We certainly advise people if they're meeting a person for the first time that they've only ever been introduced to over the internet, ensure the meeting is in a public place and our advice certainly is to take a friend along with you, or have a friend, or friends nearby, that can keep an eye on you and keep an eye on how things are going."
