A violent week in the Capital has police hunting offenders from one coastline to the other.

There have been two shootings and a serious assault with a weapon in Wellington, the Hutt Valley and on the Kapiti Coast this week.

Police are still looking for the person who shot a man in the leg in Taita on Tuesday morning.

There's still no word on whether any arrests have been made after another man was shot in the leg the following day in Waikanae.

And the hunt is on for several people today, after a man was seriously assaulted with a weapon in Berhampore last night.

A police spokesperson says they're looking for at least three people in relation to that attack.
