Canterbury police are asking for the public's help to locate a 23-year-old man wanted in relation to a domestic assault incident.

Mark Nicholl has an outstanding warrant for his arrest, and police are warning the public not to approach him.

He's described as European, 176 centimetres tall, medium build, and with dark short hair.

He has a distinctive tattoo on the right side of his neck.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
