The licensing rights to Starbucks in New Zealand have been sold.

Restaurant Brands, which owns KFC, Pizza Hut and Carl's Jr, has sold the local assets to Tahua Capital, for $4.4 million.

It plans to open more stories, and refurbish the existing ones.

Starbucks has been here since 1998.

In recent years, Restuarant Brands had closed some stores.
