This friendly city sits in the heart of Manawatu – a diverse region of mountain ranges, pristine rivers, and a beautiful coastline.

Palmerston North has small town charm with big city shopping, arts and entertainment.

The extensive range of cafes and restaurants, from causal dining to a la carte, spreads throughout the region. For a relaxed, country setting experience try The Herb Farm Cafe or for a more intimate, fine dining evening there's Aberdeen with its succulent steaks .

For those who love the outdoors there are walks through the bush-clad Manawatu Gorge, a world class rose garden – perfect for a family picnic, and the coast is only a 30 minute drive away.

Both young and old will find something to marvel at at the Te Manawa Museum of Arts, Science and History, and rugby fans can relive sporting history at The Rugby Museum.

There’s also the Coach House Museum in Feilding (winner of the Beautiful Town Awards 14 times), and numerous theatres featuring amazing shows and productions all year round.

Speaking of Feilding, the Farmers Market is a must – even Prince Charles and Camilla thought so, stopping in for a look when they visited New Zealand in November.

As a place to live – the city’s slogan sums it up best: Young Heart, Easy Living. A city that has much to see and do, but is easy to get around and enjoy with the help of friendly locals.
