Todd McClay is hopeful New Zealand can establish a trade partnership with India in the future.
The Minister of Agriculture and Trade visited Delhi last December, where he met India's commerce and industry minister.
McClay spoke about the 'successful' visit with The Country's Jamie Mackay.
