A second group of detainees from Manus Island has left for the US under a resettlement deal with Australia.
It comes following reports of several boats bound for New Zealand being intercepted by the Australian navy.
Australian authorities are blaming New Zealand's offer of resettling 150 Manus refugees, for the apparent spike in people-smuggling.
ABC's Michael Rowland told Mike Hosking the honeymoon between New Zealand and Australia is clearly over.
"I think as long as the offer is still there that is going to be an irritant in Trans-Tasman relationships."
The offer was first made in 2013.
