Wikileaks is claiming its next biggest leak.

The organisation, which is known for publishing top secret information, has come across a treasure trove of hacking tools used by America's Central Intelligence Agency.

1News US Correspondent Rebecca Wright told Rachel Smalley it's only just begun posting papers detailing what the CIA does.

"Their main headline at the moment seems to be how the CIA taps in to people's personal mobile phones and televisions and uses them sort of for covert recordings."

Wright said Wikileaks has been linked to Russian intelligence.

"This is likely to spark fresh questions about Russian interference in US domestic politics."
