The parents of an Aussie journalist stuck in an Egyptian jail have renewed their calls for his release.
Journalist Peter Greste is approaching his 400th day in a Cairo prison after being accused of helping the black-listed Muslim brotherhood.
He'd been sentenced to seven years jail after being convicted of reporting false news and endangering Egypt's national security.
His brother Andrew Greste says it's very frustrating.
"At the moment our primary focus is on Peter's application to be deported under the Presidential decree, and we see that as the next available opportunity."
His mother Lois Greste says her son's coping as best he can considering the circumstances.
"The last time we saw him, it wasn't his best day but it also wasn't his worst. He has had a few grim days but everybody does, him perhaps a few more in prison."
His mother Lois Greste says they're hopeful Peter may get a re-trial.
