Picton police want more information after a young woman was seen to be hit and kicked by a man in public.

The two were seen arguing in the carpark behind a Fresh Choice Supermarket, before walking onto Wellington Street where the alleged assault took place.

It happened just after 3pm.

Sergeant Kris Payne is asking anyone who witnessed the attack to contact him directly at the Picton police station.
