Govt 100-day plan: What's left on the to-do list?

The Government's 100-day plan is nearly up - and there are still a few items to knock off the to-do list.

Labour's caucus has gathered for a retreat near Martinborough to flesh out priorities for the year ahead.

It still has a couple of things left to complete on its 100-day plan though, before those days run out on February 3rd.

They include an inquiry into abuse in state care, which the Prime Minister's expecting Cabinet papers on before finalising soon.

Jacinda Ardern told reporters that there were three main things left to complete before the start of next month.

"The mental health enquiry, the legislation around employment law and, of course, my child poverty bill. That essentially rounds out the 100-day plan."

She said she hopes to have an update by the end of January.

However, Ms Ardern said she will also be spending time at the retreat discussing the Government's remaining priorities for the rest of the year.

"We'll be spending a significant amount of time working through essentially turning what was a 100-day plan, into a 300-day plan," she said.

This year's caucus retreat is 'family-friendly', but Ms Ardern told reporters yesterday that's not unusual for Labour.
