Documents released under the Official Information Act reveal more than half of EQC repairs over the last 200 referrals have left houses in a worse state than before the quakes.
The Residential Advisory Service has been using the expertise of Crown funded engineers to check repair methods.
EQC Fix obtained the documents that show these engineers are continuing to find major problems with the fixes and proposed repairs used for cash settlements.

Cameron Preston, a spokesperson for EQC Fix, believes people aren't being treated fairly.
"They're being convinced to accept cheap, dodgy repairs, or the cash equivalent of cheap, dodgy repairs to make them go away," Preston alleged.
"They are being mislead by their insurers and EQC and we've got a Ministry who is supposed to be representing the interests of homeowners who are not standing up and saying 'Hey, this is not right'."
