UPDATED 2.59pm: Prince Harry says rain didn't dampen his New Zealand tour.

Today marks the final day of the Prince's week-long visit, as he flies home tonight.

It's also one of the only days of the tour it hasn't rained.

But the Prince is still buzzing from the experience.

"An amazing, amazing group of people with a fantastic culture and background in a beautiful country with rain.

"Lots and lots and lots of rain."

His final engagement was at the Millennium Institute on Auckland's North Shore, where he had an audience with some of New Zealand's sporting elite.

The visit included shooting a netball with Maria Tutaia, though he didn't make any.

He fared better passing a rugby ball through a tyre with Kieran Read.

He described the visit as "epic fun", and says he'll be back.

Harry has given another rare and candid interview after playing a five-a-side football game in Auckland.

"I couldn't have asked for a better reception. Everything has been fantastic, and as someone said to me ages ago, the casual nature that we do things would really connect with the New Zealand people, and it worked both ways."

Hundreds of fans have turned out for a final glimpse of the Prince including this British couple, who've been following him through the week.

"He's done a really good job and I haven't seen any negative press and he seems really happy."

Another fan says they were especially impressed with the Prince's haka performance.

Prince Harry spent this morning meeting FIFA Under 20 World Cup volunteers and players at an event at The Cloud on Auckland's waterfront.

Dave Beeche, head of the local organising committee for the World Cup, says this morning's time with the Prince was amazing.

He says having Prince Harry here is such a boost for the profile of the tournament, which kicks off in Auckland in two weeks.

"Seeing him play such great football was just superb, and you couldn't have scripted it better with him scoring the winning goal in the final seconds."
