A further 70 staff are being evacuated from the Tauranga City Council building as tests confirm more toxic fungi.

A toxic black mould contamination has already seen 205 staff members evacuated from their offices in the Willow Street building, and further tests show Chrysosporium is also prevalent.

Although not airborne, Chrysosporium is potentially harmful to health.

The building will be cleaned and decontaminated over the next month.
