The heir to the throne is on his way - Charles and Camilla will be here for a week next month.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will arrive in Wellington on November 4.

The next day, they'll head to Dunedin, and then to Nelson on the Saturday.

The Prince of Wales will also travel to Westport and participate in the Defence Force’s Exercise Southern Katipo.

The Duchess of Cornwall will return to Wellington and visit the SPCA.

On Sunday, the royal couple will visit Turangawaewae Marae to meet Kingi Tuheitia.

The following day they'll travel to New Plymouth, before winding up their tour in Auckland on Tuesday, November 10.

John Key said they'll visit a number of locations together - and separately - so there will be plenty of opportunities for New Zealanders to get to see them.
