Thirty years since her original was bombed, the latest model of the Rainbow Warrior is visiting Auckland this weekend.
The state-of-the-art Greenpeace campaign ship will be open to the public at Princes Wharf.
She was sailed in by Captain Peter Willcox, the skipper at the helm of the original Rainbow Warrior when it was sunk 30 years ago.
Executive Director of Greenpeace New Zealand Bunny McDiarmid said some of the crew from all three Rainbow Warriors will be onboard.
"Some of the stories of where she's been will be up on her walls as well... whether you're a sailor or a kid or just a supporter of Greenpeace, a member of the public.. there's something for everyone on board the Warrior."
The purpose built campaigning ship replaced the second model in 2011 - that's now a hospital ship along the coast of Bangladesh.
Bunny McDiarmid said the newer model retains a special New Zealand link.
"There is a plaque on there where New Zealander's actually donated some of the money that allowed us to get part of the boat built, so she's New Zealand's boat as well, not just Greenpeace's boat."
She says it's not just Greenpeace's boat, but New Zealand's too.
